Paragliding in Turkey
Paragliding is one of the most exciting extreme sports in the world. Participants fly through the air using a lightweight, free-flying glider. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing and controls the direction by pulling on brake toggles.
Ölüdeniz, in Fethiye, is considered one of the best paragliding locations in the world. Pilots take off from Babadağ, a mountain that is 1,969 metres above sea level. The flight offers breathtaking views of the turquoise lagoon below. The coach of the Turkish national paragliding team says that Ölüdeniz attracts thousands of paragliders from all over the world every year.
Turkey hosts the International Air Games in Ölüdeniz every October. The event brings together professional and amateur pilots. Experts say that paragliding is relatively safe when done with a certified instructor, but it is important to check weather conditions before every flight.

Interview Report: A Young Swimmer’s Journey
Last week, I interviewed Elif Demir, a 17-year-old competitive swimmer from Ankara. Elif said that she had been swimming since she was six years old. She told me that her biggest achievement was winning a gold medal at the national youth championships last year.
When I asked about her training routine, Elif explained that she trained six days a week, waking up at 5 a.m. every morning. She added that she sometimes felt tired, but her dream of competing in the Olympics kept her motivated.
In conclusion, Elif is a determined and hardworking young athlete. She believes that discipline and passion are the keys to success in sports.
