Chores at Home
Elif (14) and Emre (12) are siblings. They are talking about their chores at home.

Elif: I have so many things to do today! I must make the bed first, and then I have to do the laundry. Mum says the clothes are piling up.

Emre: Me too! I have to take out the trash before school, and I must set the table for dinner every evening.

Elif: We both must tidy up our rooms on Saturdays. That’s the family rule. But I don’t mind it. I like it when Mum gives me pocket money for helping out.

Emre: I don’t like it when you tell me what to do, Elif! You’re not my teacher. But I like it when Dad says “well done” after I finish my chores.

Elif: Fair enough! At least we are both responsible kids.
