A school magazine asked four 8th graders about their after-school activities and preferences. Here are their answers:

Bora (14): I love playing basketball after school. I go to the sports centre every Tuesday and Thursday. I also enjoy reading science fiction books at home. I hate doing homework right after school because I’m too tired. I prefer playing sports to watching TV.

Sude (13): I enjoy painting and drawing in my free time. I go to an art class on Mondays. I like listening to music while I study. I hate waking up early on weekends. I prefer staying at home to going out on rainy days.

Kerem (14): I love playing video games with my friends online. We play every evening for about an hour. I also enjoy cooking with my mum on Saturdays. I hate running because it’s boring. I prefer cycling to running.

Zeynep (13): I enjoy playing the guitar. I practise every day after school. I also like watching documentaries about nature. I hate eating junk food because it’s unhealthy. I prefer drinking fruit juice to fizzy drinks.
